MAR. 24 2013 about Disneyana Fun Festival 2013 After Report Part 5

I have reported about TDR Disneyana Fun Festival 2013 over a period of weeks. In this week, the report of the event has come to a final.

As above a Day 2 schedule, First I'd like to report the costume exhibition at Disney Ambassador Hotel.

There is a show costume display at *Dream* the banquet hall. The costumes were quite a recent entertainment show, but it's interesting and yearned for that time.

These costumes were "Kids of The Kingdom" in 1983 to 1984. Actually, the costume was recreate for "Remember the Magic" the 25th anniversary castle show. The original show took place at "It's A Small World Stage" which have replaced a fountain.

These costumes were "Disney Party Gra Parade" in 1991 to 1993. Many longtime geeks include me says that enormous balloon floats had a big impact and the parade was so amazing.

These costumes from "Disney Carnival" the TDL parade in 1998 to 1999. I loved simple but graceful float and theme of the parade. This music is my favorite. Disney Friends voices were still English, the merrily laugh of Kimono Minnie in the parade was soooo cute.

These costumes were "Donald's Super Duck Parade" the TDL parade in 1999. This is one of my favorite parade in TDL. And I think many longtime Donald fans would longing this parade and the event. This parade was one of the part of "Donald's Wacky Kingdom" the everything-Donald special event.

These costumes from "Disney on Parade 100 Years of Magic" the TDL parade in 2000 to 2003. A Wonderful collaboration parade with music history and Disney movie history. I loved the villains sung a famous disco numbers with above fire dancers, and Flik and Heimlich danced along to "U can't touch this!" MC Hammer. The big red heart head dress costume was a female dancer from a psychedelic colors Alice float.

These costumes from "Style!" the TDS parade in 2004. It was 2nd field parade in TDS. As the title implies, it was very fancy parade. The float consists from Fantasia in Art Nouveau, ALADDIN in Art Deco, Minnie's Fashion Show in Modernism, Pinocchio in Rococo (above picture), The Little Mermaid in Japonisme. I really want to see it again!

These costumes from "Porto Paradiso Water Carnival" the TDS Harbor show in 2001 to 2006. It was the first massive harbor show which used six ships and twelve dolphin jet ski bikes. Many romantic costumes added to the gorgeous show.

These costumes from "Cinderellabration: Lights of Romance" the nighttime castle show in 2003 to 2008. Japanese "Cinderellabration" in the night was so beautiful with tons of lights. There were additional electrical construction in the hub for the show. I hope it'll be back in winter TDL.

These costumes from "Horseshoe Round Up" the Dinner at Diamond Horseshoe Revue show in 2005 to now. I've never seen it yet.

These costumes from "Wet & Wild Pirates Night" the summer night castle show in 2007. In this year 2007 was the reopen year of "Pirates of the Caribbean" staring Captain Jack Sparrow.

This costume from "Club Monsters, Inc It's Laughter We're After!" the summer night castle show in 2009. There are a big eye and red hair with long dress on this costume back. Because this dancer is a monster singer.

These costumes from "Disney's Dreams on Parade" the TDL daytime parade in 2003 to 2006. The western cowboy & cancan dancer in "Dreams of the Frontier Spirit" float with Chip & Dale, Woody, Jessie, and the other characters.

After a retrospective, then let's move on to the next exhibition. It's about coming TDL 30th anniversary. The everything-30th exhibition was took place at “Paradiso” the banquet hall in TDS Hotel Miracosta.

Here are the 30th anniversary main character costume & design.

The main colors are Gently gold & Orange red. It's very brilliant but not too flashy, I think it's perfect for the celebration.

One of the elucidator said that Goofy on the above golden costume will have little occasion to appear before a guest. Because he will dress as an another costume on a new parade.

Speaking of the parade, there was a concept art and caption.

The new day parade theme is "Happiness", the title is "Happiness is Here". A character motif colorful floats run through TDL. It will be 500 meters long.

And the below pictures are parts of a park decoration. The 30th anniversary key item is balloon. We will be able to enjoy a colorful funny decoration with balloons.

The castle is now in preparation for the above 30th anniversary decoration. The Cinderella castle covered with Cinderella castle camouflage. It's interesting.

Next is tons of a 30th anniversary merchandises.

This is the balloon the main art merchandises.

And another 30 the anniversary design, there are a various versions of Mickey costume through the 30th event history.

For soft toy lover...

Of course, new costume Duffy & Sherry May will be launched. (If you like...)

And popular merchandise in Japan, soft toy key chain is a new look too.

For soft toy collector, the below picture is a 5,000 limited special anniversary merchandise, the plush badge set. The price is 30,000JPY.

More and more a limited special merchandise for the coming anniversary!

Mickey with many balloons embossed Long Leather Wallet, 30,000JPY.

Figure Display Set "Happiness is Here", 500 limited, 150,000JPY.

Most grateful, but terrifying (for me) item is coming...

It's a 30th event history Mickey pins.

The above 6 pins will be sold in April 11.

The below 6 pins will be sold in June 24.

The below 6 pins will be sold in September 3.

The below 6 pins will be sold in November 1.

The below 6 pins will be sold in December 26.

The above golden costume Mickey is a last pin!
The price is each 1,000JPY.
There will be 30 different Mickey pins!

What should I do?

There were a special cheese cakes. It's pre-order item, when we will order during a period, then it will delivery after two weeks later.

I want to this food samples, not actually cakes.

We had a wonderful 30th food tasting at “New York Deli” the counter-service restaurant in TDS. I got a rare receipt.

The special new design paper container.

A cute looks the Mickey shape buns with succulent beef patty, pastrami, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and cream cheese sauce was very nice.
The hamburger will be sold at "Tomorrowland Terrace".

The hut shaped Mango Mousse Cake will be sold at "Sweet Heart Cafe". A sweetness and acidity of Mango with tasty sponge cake produce a wonderful flavor with a fresh, smooth taste that is just perfect for the coming season.

Actually, the above tasty mousse served with the souvenir dish.

Sorry, photo is coming soon
This is the 30th special tapioca drink. The colorful tapioca is image of balloon the key motif. Inside a clash peach jelly in lemon juice help the tapioca remains suspend which images the balloons of the sky. It looks great and taste was so good.

Then I strongly suggested a new popcorn with flavor changing seasoning. (Unfortunately, It didn't no tasting, but it sound's good.)
It's only Japanese, but you could imagine by the middle of pictures.

http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/special/happinessyear/tdl_eat/index4.html
1,enjoy the original flavor.
2,sprinkle "Banana Seasoning", you can enjoy sweet taste.
3,and then, add "Garam Masala Seasoning", it'll be amazing flavor!

And surprisingly, most recommended flavor is "Caramel"!
When you come to TDL, let's try this popcorn.

The popcorn bucket also will be launch as new looks.

Eye-catching balloon shape bucket, and 30th history Mickey design bucket.

So, let's move on a Closing Ceremony place, “Broadway Music Theater” in TDS.

MAR. 15 2013 about Disneyana Fun Festival After Report 4

Thank you for coming back! Today, I'd like to report the end of the first day of Disneyana Fun Festival 2013 at TDR.
The Welcome Dinner took place at “Paradiso” the banquet hall in Tokyo Disneysea Hotel Miracosta.

Before this special dinner, we had experienced the tension-filled main auction, entry the wavering park props merchandises foam for a lottery, and went and enjoyed the park attraction.(Because this Disneyana member got a unlimited FastPass on the event two days, but except “Toy Story Mania!” was only one time.) And some of the participants got through all the program of the day one like us (the Dream Program 1-3 & 6-7 were day-time event, and some of the other remained Dream Program. Therefore the banquet hall filled with extraordinary excitement.

We cast the seating arrangements lottery for this dinner in this early morning when we arrived the Disneyana registration.

There is a table name on the back of the above card.

Surprisingly, we got a great card. It's a front row center seat!

So let's enjoy the opening of the special dinner.

The below pictures are the special course of the dinner.

"Jellied Bouillabaisse and Seasonal Salad with Celeriac Puree and Saffron Mayonnaise". It's a lovely deliciously Mickey sauce.

I could hardly wait to start the steaming "Cream of Salsify Soup with Sun choke Royal", so I missed the photo. Sorry.

I got a clear soup picture from MasterY. who was seated next to me at the welcome dinner, then after we are a friend. Thanks!

"Turbot and lobster Gratin with Braised Colza Florets and Guanciale served with American Sauce"

"Gilled Wagyu Rump with Potato Galette Truffle Marsala Jus".

Open the candy and chocolate sorcerer hat...

Strawberry Mousse and Champagne Sorbet!
The dinner was great, especially the above picture dessert to look just like "Treasure Sphere" the symbol of Disneyana 2013.
Inside the champagne sherbet was really tasty. I wanted to eat three times more this portion.

In the meddle of the meal, a unique fashion show was held.

It was very interesting. I hope you will enjoy and understand the broad strokes about TDL & TDS costumes from my subtitles.

And the end of the dessert, we had glimpsed the world of magical moments.

Mr. Seisaku Sato is an artist, since 1983 to present, he has worked on various design work for TDR. He designed all three TDR Disneyana event's key visual. He also know as the creator of "Chandu" the baby tiger in "Sindbad's Storybook Voyages". And the boss of a trainer at Disney Drawing Class in TDL. In his presentation, I surprised how ferocity looks the "Chandu" without his eyes. I realized that he looks adorable, but he is a tiger. I was really impressed his magic hand.
And I loved an amazing combination of the end of the drawing presentation and the beginning of the character greeting. Many Disney friends came to the table. The meet & greet characters were, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Clarice, Thumper, Miss Rabbit, Abu, Aladdin & Jasmine, Genie, Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Bernard & Bianca, Marie, Lilo, Stitch, Angel,
I spent a magical night.

After the big dinner with many reliable casts and adorable characters, the lottery result handed out to the participants.

Yes! I got one item! ( from my ten maximum entry.)
Unfortunately, some table mates didn't win a thing. Therefore I was really really lucky.

The thing that I luckily got was...

The messenger bag of 2008 TDS Spring Carnival park banner!

MAR. 09 2013 about Disneyana Fun Festival 2013 After Report Part 3

Thank you for coming back! I still report the Disneyana Fun festival 2013 the one-night-two-days program. Today, I'd like to tell you about Dream program.
We luckily got a Special Lunch program at TDL from seven plans. Every rare opportunities were so attractive, however, I had no doubts about our decision. Why, then did I choose this lunch program? Because there was a special reason and a big anticipation.

  1. The restaurant was only mentioned at World Bazaar.
→ If the lunch place was normal restaurant, they would be mentioned it in advance. As proof of this, there was a "Magellan's Special Lunch Program" at 2010 Disnyana. They announced the restaurant name before it opened.

  2. This program had photo and video limitation.
→ It's very strict rule for only eating lunch.

Consider above clues, I guess this event will take place at the place that must not be named in World Bazaar. Assuming that the place was there, I got very cleared about some weired things.

The result was...BINGO!!
As expected, I finally visited the most difficult to enter and the hidden place. Video and photo of the inside of the facility were not permitted. However, disappointedly, the person in charge told all the participants not to post the photo (only exception is food photo.) and even the place name where we had the lunch on any blog and SNS. The lead cast member gave the reason was "This facility is not exist in the park.".

The outside is permitted on the web.

My table was near the third red covered window from the left.
From upstairs, I realized the building facade use perspective trick. I didn't feel much height than I saw from ground level.

Anyway, therefore sorry for this photo-less, name-less irritating report.

The entrance is located between "Magic Shop" and "Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation" in World Bazaar. This is two-storied facility, there was a small waiting area with a cloakroom on the ground floor. And upstairs (there are a fluffy carpeted stair and gorgeous elevator.) has a dining room. Walking through a highly-polished wooden dark cozy waiting area, there were a pretty table with beautiful green colored table settings. Especially I amazed that a green match box on the plate welcomed us. Each match case had a participant name on it. (Actually, the inside was several small stickers.)

So let's introduce the dishes of 42eme Prix Culinaire International Japon winner Chef Yasuhiro Shimomura's Special Lunch. Chef Shimomura is also this hidden facility's chef.

Lightly Roasted File Fish Filet in Aspic of Steamed File Fish Liver and Onion Puree

Fresh Canadian Lobster Fricassee with Portobello Mushroom Veloute and Truffle Coulis

Premium Kuroge Wagyu Sirloin with Mixed Nut Crust and Honey-Balsamic Accent

Baked Alaska and Lingot de Chocolat inspired by the Disney film Fantasia

It was like a dream. Every dishes were so delicious.
Fresh and best ingredients, beautiful food layout, delicate flavors, wonderful serving, at a place where I longed to visit. I never forget.

I introduce the special merchandise at Disneyana 2013. There are three types of merchandise. One is auction item which I post it last week. Second is a lottery merchandise that are mainly park props. And third is anyone's item whoever you came to the event.
The below is a part of the lottery merchandises. Most items decorated in somewhere park or Disney Resort Cruiser the shuttle bus. And most of all, the qty was only one, therefore the guest fill out a requisition form which you want. Then, the lottery winner can buy the item.

So many item displayed at "Fantasia III" the banquet hall. Can you decide which you want? The form had only ten items you can entry the lottery.

And below items which I had looked forward to seeing and buying if I win the lottery. It was a bag made of a park banner. The banner bag was sold at the second Disneyana, it was so popular at that time. I saw a many guest who didn't win a lottery for the bag in the previous event.
So, OLC knew the bag is so popular, and in this time, they launched several different types of the banner bags.

The above bags use TDS 10th anniversary banner. The fringe of the tote is removable.

Here is the new types of bags.

The camera bag is each 50000JPY.

Fantasia logo camera bag use Disney's Spring Carnival 2008 banner in TDS.

Genie camera bag use TDS 10th anniversary banner. The halloween camera bag use Disney's Halloween 2009 banner in TDL.

Unique pennant-shape banner bag is new comer too. These below banner once decorated in "Disney & Co." the merchandise store in World Bazaar.

The next is belt bag and messenger bag.

The belt bag use Disney's Christmas Fantasy 2010 banner. It's very small so I think that it's difficult to use a good pattern from a banner.

These messenger bags use TDL Disney's Halloween 2010 banner.

The left messenger bag use TDS 10th anniversary banner, and the right one is use in Bon Fire Dance banner TDS.

I think most popular bag of all is this Season of Heart the TDS special event banner. This is the only bag that Mickey and Minnie on the same side of the bag front.

There were so many bag patterns, and there was no single design that was the same. I watched with fascination to choice the bag, so I forgot to take the other bags photo.

The lottery result came after the welcome dinner at TDS Hotel MiraCosta. I will tell you what I got on next after report.

MAR. 01 2013 about Disneyana Fun Festival 2013 After Report Part 2

Thank you for waiting, I spent a very busy 2-days. now I completely recovered from my budget crisis shock of this Disneyana Fun Festival 2013. Therefore I'll report one by one about the auction, presentation, selective dream program, special merchandise and so on.

I'd like to show you a schedule of Day 1.

First, let's take a look 10 minutes Opening Ceremony.

Inside of "Fantasia I" the banquet hall at Disney Ambassador Hotel, there is Treasure Sphere of this event symbol which express "Dream", "Discovery", and "Encounter" this festival main element.

The below is a video of the ceremony. I'm sorry it's not good quality, but you can feel the atmosphere.

The TDR Dinseyana Fun Festival 2013 kicked off!

Actually our next event was "42eme Prix Culinaire International Japon winner Chef Yasuhiro Shimomura's Special Lunch" from selective Dream Program. However, the many limitation had our program, and it takes me a little more time to finish the report, therefore I'd like to post about next program, the Auction.

Before the auction, I'd like to tell you about an auction puddle. This is the third year of this Disneyana in Japan. When I participated in the first Disneyana, I thought I got a Mickey-shape puddle same as WDW or DL Disneyana. However, the puddle was not only Mickey-shape but also not Disney-related at ll. It was a simple gray plastic puddle and it was property of Shinwa Art Auction the Asian Art Auction Alliance. Of course I had to return it after the memorable 1st auction. The puddle didn't become a commemorative item. I remember I really disappointed about it. The second Disneyana was same puddle. I kept pleaded original puddle on post-survey.
In this time, before the Disneyana, the official says that the puddle is Disney original. And also mentioned that I can bring back it to home. I really excited. The time was come, the below is my puddle at 2013 Disneyana.

It's Mickey-Glove-shape, yes, it's cute, but, but...this is not puddle that I imagined. There is no handle and it's made of paper! Whenever I hold up this puddle, I felt insecure. Anyway, it's my good souvenir for me.

The Auction was start from three o'clock at "Fantasia I" the banquet hall. Before the auction, we could see the items very closely. These items were decorated at the banquet hallway and "Fantasia II".

The Lot No.17 and No.20 from "Disney's Easter Wonderland" the special event sold at this auction. According to these items, you could see about Disney's Easter event in this year, 2013. Yes, in this year 2013, "Disney's Easter Wonderland" will not take place. But, don't be sad. Official says at the Disneyana, "Disney's Easter event just put a short pause in this year." Therefore let's wait till it come back.

The most expensive item in this auction was the Lot No. 47 "15th Anniversary Mickey Figure" which was ¥2,000,000JPY!! This jester's was main costume of TDL 15th anniversary. JAN. 19 2013 about Sweet Duffy and Miscellaneous

A low season which also means money making Duffy season at TDS. (Oh, I've said too much!?)

Now Sweet Duffy the annual restaurant decoration with Duffy things take place in Cape Cod Cook-Off Restaurant of American Waterfront from JAN. 14 to MAR. 14.

Cape Cod is a Duffy's Hometown...

These street lamp decorations are same as last year's.

Let's toward the center of Sweet Duffy Cafe.

The sugary wreaths are welcomed us.

Inside the restaurant, you can find many limited-time Duffy decorations. The walls and columns are decorated the Duffy border wallpaper.

The main Duffy decoration area in Cape Cod Cook-Off Restaurant.

In this year, 2013, the theme of Duffy and Sherry May is about making chocolates for their friends.

The left (Story.1): "I wish I could make yummy chocolates..."
The right (Story.2): "Sure you can!"

The left (Story.3): "Do you think everyone'll enjoy them?"
The right (Story.4): "These are for our friends! Hope everyone can be happy!"

Yeah! Happy Ever After!!

The table at the inside of the restaurant was returned its Duffy pattern place mat! There were no place mat in 2011, so I'm happy the returning which looks more fun.

However, the outside seating area is not.

There are only a patchwork like chair covers. In this year 2013, some decoration was back and better than last year 2012, but still I'm very miss the full energy decoration in 2011.

Miscellaneous 1

On January 14 at Westernland.

After the big snow in TDR, many various cast members still struggled with the snow.

A custodial cast shoveled the snow and moved far from guest's track. (The left picture)
A various casts (“Turtle Talk with Crush” the attraction cast, some guest control casts, and "Big City Vehicles" the driver) from the around gathered and worked with the snow at American Waterfront.
Thank you for a lovely park!!

Miscellaneous 2

I update TDL & TDS menu sometimes on my website, so I took many photos of a menu board at park.

Sometimes, I found a mistake.

"...regular sise soft drink..."

Miscellaneous 3

I have witnessed a "DisneyseaTransit Steamer Line" the boat's engine trouble.

First, When I found the ship stayed the above picture location, I was very surprised because usually the transit steamer line vehicle turns the Arabian Coast corner just as the below map.

The green line is regular course. In this case, the steamer line vehicle stopped at the red point on the map.

According to a permanent cast, the boat bumped into something just after departing from the boarding point, then the engine didn't work.

All passengers transshipped the backup boat and the guests backed on safe ground literally.

Long version.

After the evacuation, some mechanics came and tried to move.

But they seemed to judge that the engine couldn't fix on the spot.

The stalled boat was towed.

The rapid and safe evacuation had done by many cast members. Now it's peace.

JAN. 14 2013 about The First Snow of 2013

We had our first snow yesterday. In midmorning at TDL, the cold rain turned to snow, then after 20 minutes, the snow covered the ground fast.

AM 11:38.

After 20 minutes...

The snow covered Mark Twain Riverboat entrance.

Look at the footprints in the snow. The ship's capacity is 475 people. Can you believe it? It was the last day of the three-day weekends. It's like a reserved ship!

The snowy Westernland. It's so cold but peaceful.

This popcorn wagon was still opened in the rough weather.

Big Thunder Mountain was closed due to this heavy snow.

The path to the Snow White Well was covered with new snow.

From Snow White Well area.
So windy, so cold, but I enjoyed this weather very much.

One more beautiful snowy shot.

I walked from Westernland through the bridge to the center hub. As you can see, the ground completely covered with the snow.

Hmm...an adult seemed drank water.

What a wonderful day! It's so rare to take a picture of snow covered castle.

I've never experienced the park with such a heavy snow.

I really missed TDL park, but I have to take pictures of snowy TDS, so I left and went.

I reached TDS somehow.

The Mediterranean Harbor was so quiet.

The next picture is from American Waterfront. The electric wire at the street was glittering with snow.

Where did they go in such a not easy condition?

Yes, their destination was "Broadway Music Thatre" where Micky & pals welcome the guest in any weather.

The gorgeous architecture was more mysterious and beautiful with the snow.

I run out of energy halfway of TDS, so I escaped the "Sailing Day Buffet" the all-you-can-eat restaurant.

These upper pictures are festive red rice and sesame seeds salt the only-today-menu which called "Oseki-han" in Japanese. This is made by steaming sticky variety rice together with red beans. In this day was the coming-of age day, the oseki-han usually eat in such a special celebration.

After I enjoyed the meal, it turned dark.

The beautiful night S.S. Columbia with snow.

Here is the snow night Mt. Prometheus.

This year's masterpiece of snowman.
The left picture's snow Micky and Minnie were made by gondoliers who make it well in ever year. The right one, the snow Duffy and small Mickey was located in front of “McDuck's Department Store” the big Duffy store in American Waterfront. Awesome!

So cold, and it was difficult to walk with deep snow. If my buddy's shoes didn't a buckskin shoes for normal weather, (Of course, I wore rain boots.)

But I love this snowy day. It was fantastic.

2013 zodiac is the snake, it's the year of Kaa. This Japanese calligraphy says "Happy New Year", but there was a Disney-like trick on this Japanese letter. In Japanese, "Happy New Year" the pronunciation is "Akemashite Omedetou Gozaimasu". However, the actually letter on the photo says, "Akemishite Omedetou gozaimasu". This Japanese "mi" also have means "snake", so Kaa the snake shapes the Japanese Hiragana character.

This is the another Japanese traditional decoration, "Kadomatsu" which contains many Disney things. If you'd like to know about Kadomatsu, please go check the Kadomatsu the wiki.

TDS' Kadomatsu is more modern looks. The center decoration is a Japanese traditional umbrella with Kaa illustration.

In this season, you can find many Japanese-sh merchandise in the store.

This is a Micky-like Daruma-shape case with Japanese traditional sweets Manjyu which sweet azuki beans covered with flour pastry.

The right picture is another Japanese confection wrapped with Froshiki the Japanese traditional all-purpose cloth wrapper.
The left photo is Jubako case with treats. Jubako is one of Japanese traditional food container.

Here are the only event in this limited event, "New Year's Greeting" the special mini parade.

Micky dressed in Haori Hakama that means completely formal Japanese dress.

Minnie dressed in Furisode which means unmarried. Furisode is the most formal style of kimono by unmarried women. We can distinguish that the long sleeves of them. She's so pretty.

Donald appeared looking funny dressed in Hanten (vest like, a kind of kimono) and Zukin (Japanese traditional cloth hat).

Daisy wore a beautiful daisy flower pattern kimono. The sleeves were short, but she's also unmarried, so I think it's just design for her and that's a furisode same as Minnie.
